The accident transpired at approximately 7:35 a.m. at the intersection of Imola Avenue, Freeway Drive, and Golden Gate Drive.

The boy was crossing the street when a westbound Toyota Prius suddenly struck him. The driver did not help the boy and drove away from the scene.

The young boy sustained moderate injuries in the crash. He was taken to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

No arrests have been made at the moment. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the case and is actively pursuing the whereabouts of the hit-and-run driver.
