An unidentified man was killed while another person was hurt following a traffic collision involving a tow truck in Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2022.

A westbound Ford Escape was traveling on Muller Road when it stopped for a red light. As the Ford Escape entered the intersection, it drove directly into a southbound heavy-duty tow truck.

Unfortunately, the tow truck driver was unable to stop in time and crashed into the right passenger side of the Ford. The tow truck was traveling at 55 mph at the time of the accident.

Unfortunately, the man in the right passenger seat was killed in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the Ford driver sustained major injuries in the mishap and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.
