Work Accident Statistics

According to a release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than two-thirds of all American workers were injured at work in November 2020. There hasn’t been a change in this figure since 2018.

Despite a decrease in industrial injuries, the death toll from workplace accidents remains alarmingly high: There were 5,333 occupational deaths in 2019, a 2% rise over the previous year. As it turns out, the number of fatalities has been rising steadily since 2010.

A 2% rise in fatal workplace injuries was recorded in 2019 over the previous year, with 5,333 fatalities recorded. Falls, slips, and trips accounted for 16.5 percent of deaths, while transportation-related events accounted for 39.8 percent.

In 2015, 364 out of 937 construction worker deaths were caused by falls, which accounted for 38.8% of the total. Ladders, scaffolds, and construction sites were violated OSHA guidelines in these cases. The most common cause of fatality from falls is a lack of personal fall protection. The failure to inform people of potential dangers was also an important issue.
