Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics

When it comes to great weather and exciting settings for people to enjoy with friends and family, California offers it all. Many people like to live in California, so the number of people who live there is growing. California, on the other hand, has some drawbacks. It has one of the lowest rates of driving safety in the United States.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Fatality Facts 2018 study, California has the highest number of car accidents and fatalities due to vehicle collisions. Because of California’s enormous population, there are many more drivers on the road, which may lead to higher automobile accident rates across the state.

In California, an automobile accident is reported every three minutes. This means that 20 accidents occurred every hour on average in 2017. However, this figure may not accurately reflect the number of accidents because many car accidents go unreported to police and insurance companies.

These car accidents occur for various reasons, the most common of which are drunk drivers, distracted drivers, speeding drivers, and drivers who disregard traffic laws in general.
