[01-09-2022] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed, Two Others Injured After a Deadly Head-On Crash in Dehesa

The accident transpired at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Dehesa Road, west of Sloane Canyon Road.

A 2003 Honda Civic was initially traveling eastbound when it crossed over the double yellow lines and went into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with an oncoming 2019 Chrysler Pacifica minivan.

It’s unclear what caused the Honda Civic to veer onto the opposite lanes. Unfortunately, a 73-year-old female passenger in the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 30-year-old sedan driver was seriously injured in the crash, while the minivan driver sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The 30-year-old driver was suspected of driving under the influence at the time of the accident. An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
