[01-09-2023] Lake County, CA – Suspected DUI Collision Left One Killed, Four Injured on State Route 29

01-09-2023-Suspected-DUI-Collision-Left-One-Killed-Four-Injured-on-State-Route-29At least one driver was killed and four injured following a suspected DUI collision in Lake County on Monday night, January 9, 2023.

According to reports, the fatal crash occurred around 10:46 p.m. on State Route 29 at the intersection of Argonaut Road.

A 1999 Chrysler Concorde was driving southbound when A 2021 Honda Passport traveled northbound with two vehicles, a 2001 Ford Focus and a 2008 Mercedes C300.

The Chrysler driver went into the northbound lane, crossing the solid double yellow lines and colliding head-on with the Honda vehicle.

The vehicle continued south in the northbound lane and collided with the Ford. As a result, the Mercedes could not avoid the collision and collided head-on with the Chrysler.

Responders arrived at the scene and found the Ford passenger, Gregory Z., dead on the site.

Meanwhile, Bradley J., the Chrysler driver, and Timothy L., the Ford driver, both sustained severe injuries.

Andrew P., and Isis M., both occupants in the Mercedes, were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

There was suspicion that DUI played a role in this crash, and the Chrysler driver was detained.

Further investigations on the crash are underway.
