[01-11-2022] Shasta County, CA – Three People Injured After a Rear-End Crash in Redding

Three people were hurt, including a Shasta County Deputy, following a rear-end crash in Redding on Tuesday night, January 11, 2022.

An eastbound pickup truck was traveling on Highway 299 when it stalled and lost electrical power, including its lights, for unclear reasons.

Meanwhile, a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy that was also heading east was unable to see the stalled truck causing the officer to rear-end it.

Two people inside the truck and the Sheriff’s Deputy were injured following the mishap. They were all taken to Mercy Medical to receive treatment.

Information about the crash is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
