[01-12-2023] 20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed Following Collision in OrlandA 20-year-old rider identified as Gustabo R. was killed after a motorcycle collision in Orland on Saturday night, January 12, 2023.

Reports confirmed that the fatal crash transpired around 7:43 p.m. on Walker Street.

Authorities discovered a motorbike was seen performing a wheelie, and they used lights and sirens to try and stop it.

The biker passed several cars while traveling swiftly east on Walker Street without stopping for the police.

The officer turned off their lights and sirens and stopped attempting to catch up to the motorcyclist due to the high speeds involved and the potential danger.

When the light turned red at the intersection of East Walker Street and Papst Avenue, a 2015 Yamaha FZ07 motorcycle continued eastbound on East Walker Street at high speed.

The motorcyclist struck a red Subaru that had just entered the intersection and a white Toyota that was stalled in the westbound lane of East Walker Street. During the accident, the motorcycle rider was flung from the vehicle.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, emergency responders from Westside Ambulance and the Orland Fire Department also started performing life-saving procedures.

Authorities declared the rider dead at the scene.

The Subaru’s female driver was examined and discharged at the scene of the collision. The Toyota’s female driver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

While the police investigated the collision, East Walker Street and Papst Avenue intersection was shut down.

After 10 p.m. on Thursday, the intersection was reopened to traffic.
