A 59-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista on Monday morning, January 13, 2025.
According to Sgt. Anthony Molina of the Chula Vista Police Department, the crash occurred around 7:55 a.m. in the alley north of 517 H Street, between Fifth Avenue and Smith Avenue.
First responders arrived to find the pedestrian suffering from major injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The Chula Vista Police Department Traffic Bureau is investigating the incident.
