Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Multi-vehicle accidents are only one sort of automotive accident. When three or more cars are involved in a collision, this accident occurs. They are frequently caused by a “chain-reaction” crash, in which one vehicle collides with another, potentially causing it to collide with additional cars on the road.

Car accidents can be life-changing and traumatic. Because cars are so common in our lives, drivers frequently overlook how dangerous they can become and how serious, even fatal, car accidents can occur.

Millions of people are injured in automobile accidents on American highways every year, and tens of thousands of drivers and passengers are killed in crashes. According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) of the United States Department of Transportation, there were 33,654 fatal vehicle crashes in 2018, resulting in 36,560 deaths.

According to statistics from the National Highway Road Safety Administration (link is external), traffic accidents continue to be a major public safety concern in Fresno County.

According to the NHTSA, 61 persons were killed in Fresno vehicle accidents in 2017. Twenty-three of these were pedestrians, accounting for 37.7 percent of the total.
