[01-14-2024] San Mateo County, CA – Two People Killed Following Plane Crash Near Half Moon Bay

Two people were killed following a plane crash near Half Moon Bay on Sunday evening, January 14, 2024.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the fatal crash occurred at around 7:00 p.m. near Moss Beach.

Reports indicate that the plane flew from Hayward to Half Moon Bay at about 5:04 p.m. before it took off from Half Moon Bay and crashed minutes later.

There were four people onboard the plane, including the two identified victims. Lochie F., the pilot, and Emma W.S., an MIT graduate, were confirmed deceased. The pilot’s fiancé, Cassidy P., is believed to be involved in the crash.

The plane was identified as a Cozy Mark IV, which was registered to Winged Wallabies, Inc.

As of now, the authorities have not identified the other victims, and the cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
