Authorities stated that the collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. on La Jolla Village Drive.

According to reports, the suspect was driving a Honda Civic westbound in a mall’s drive aisle when he struck the victim.

The victim was struck on her right side, causing her to jump onto the car before falling.

As a result, the woman sustained a fractured right leg and various injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

The car left the scene, but it was quickly found, and the 33-year-old driver was detained for DUI and hit-and-run charges.
