[01-16-2024] 21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Severely Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in MiramarA 21-year-old motorcyclist was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle in Miramar, San Diego, early Tuesday evening, January 16, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 5:15 p.m. between Padgett Street and Miramar Road.

A 2022 Chevy Bolt driven by a 71-year-old woman was turning left on the intersection when the 21-year-old hit her vehicle with a Yamaha R1 motorcycle.

The rider suffered a fractured left rib, liver laceration, broken right elbow, and traumatic brain injury. The police cited that these injuries were not life-threatening.

Additional reports say the elderly driver stopped at the stop sign before turning left. She did not sustain any visible injuries.

The authorities have not released further information about the collision.
