[01-17-2022] Fresno County, CA – Worker Injured Following an Explosion in Building Along Table Mountain Road

A Hobart worker sustained severe burns following an explosion of a building that was under construction along Table Mountain Road on Monday afternoon, January 17, 2022.

The casino’s cafeteria exploded. Authorities suspect that gas may have triggered the explosion. Unfortunately, a 19-year-old Hobart worker was seriously burned following the explosion.

The Hobart worker sustained severe burns to his arms and torso and was airlifted to CRMC, where he underwent surgery.

After the explosion, other workers and construction crew were immediately evacuated from the burning building. Fortunately, the sprinkler system assisted in preventing the fire from spreading to the other parts of the building.

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the explosion.
