Two people were injured following a traffic collision at an intersection near Stevinson on Monday afternoon, January 17, 2022.

[01-17-2022] Merced County, CA - Two People Hurt After a Traffic Collision at Highways 140 and 165The accident occurred at the intersection of Highways 140 and 165 near Stevinson at approximately 4:38 p.m.

A southbound 2005 Honda Civic was traveling on Highway 165 at 60 mph when the driver ran a red light and crashed into the passenger side of a westbound 1999 Dodge 3500 pickup truck.

The Dodge was reportedly stopped at the intersection 5-10 mph before the collision. The Honda Civic driver was seriously injured in the mishap and was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. She was later identified as 60-year-old Paula G.

Meanwhile, the other driver, identified as 42-year-old Ryan W., was also hurt in the crash, but he declined medical treatment.

Information about the crash is limited at the moment. An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
