Multi-Vehicle Collision Statistics
It’s no wonder that California, with a population of about 40 million people, is a hotspot for car accidents.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), 3,563 people died in car accidents across the state in 2018. Thousands of people are dealing with grief and loss due to the terrible accidents in California.
A multi-vehicle collision occurred in this case. When three or more vehicles collide, the accident is referred to as a “multi-vehicle” collision. This type of collision is usually caused by a “chain reaction,” One car collides with another, perhaps causing the other vehicle to collide with another.
Reckless drivers, speeding, drunk drivers, and distracted drivers are all common causes of these collisions.
