[01-18-2024] Kern County, CA – 53-Year-Old Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Bakersfield

A 53-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Thursday evening, January 18, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 8:47 p.m. along  Niles Street near Tate Street.

A Toyota Corolla reportedly hit the victim, who was walking outside a crosswalk. The 53-year-old suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The driver involved remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities and was not found to be driving impaired.

Further details on the crash and the condition of the victim have yet to be released.
