[01-18-2024] Stanislaus County, CA – Two People Killed, Three More Injured After Pursuit Led to Collision in Ceres

Two people were killed, and three more were injured after a pursuit led to a collision in Ceres on Thursday evening, January 18, 2024.

According to the Ceres Police Department, the fatal collision occurred after 9:00 p.m. between Keyes Road and Geer Road.

Reports indicate the authorities were following a grey 2016 Ford Fusion after learning it was involved in a crash between Highway 99 and Mitchell Road.

As the pursuit continued, the vehicle began speeding until it collided with a 2016 Ford Mustang driven by a 17-year-old Hughson resident.

The 20-year-old driver of the Fusion and his passenger, also a 20-year-old, were ejected and pronounced dead. The other two passengers inside the Fusion and the 17-year-old suffered major injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The identities of the victims remain undisclosed. The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the fatal collision.
