[01-20-2022] Fresno County, CA – One Person Killed, Several Others Injured After a Hit-and-Run Crash on Ashlan Avenue and Golden State Boulevard

One person was killed while two others were injured following a major traffic accident involving a hit-and-run driver near Ashlan Avenue and Golden State Boulevard on Thursday morning, January 20, 2021.

A 21-year-old man identified as Esau Angel C.F. was driving a silver truck on Highway 180 and Highway 99. He was involved in a car crash and drove away from the scene while being pursued by another driver.

The silver truck was traveling at high speeds as it attempted to flee the scene. It then collided head-on with a black truck. Unfortunately, the driver of the black truck was killed in the crash. He was identified as 48-year-old Joe S.

The hit-and-run driver and his passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect was later arrested on vehicular manslaughter charges and possibly hit-and-run.

An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
