[01-21-2022] Kern County, CA - One Person Killed in a Deadly Bakersfield Two-Vehicle CrashA 43-year-old man identified as Edward Valdez R. was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Friday morning, January 21st, 2022.

The accident happened at approximately 7:19 a.m. in the area of Norris Road and Melody Lane near Cope’s Knotty Pine Cafe.

A pickup truck attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection when it collided with a westbound Honda. The Honda was traveling at high speeds at the time of the collision.

Sadly, one of the drivers was killed in the mishap. Edward was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the crash. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
