[01-22-2022] Injuries Reported Following a Multi-Vehicle Traffic Collision in ChicoOne unidentified person was hurt following a multi-vehicle traffic collision in Chico on Saturday evening, January 22, 2022.

The accident transpired at approximately 5:34 p.m. on Highway 32 near Forest Ranch Road in Chico.

A Toyota reportedly veered directly into the path of a Ford for unclear reasons. As the Ford turned left in an attempt to avoid the Toyota, it collided head-on with another Ford.

The Toyota driver attempted to drive away from the scene but was later apprehended by the officers from the California Highway Patrol.

The Toyota driver was identified as Richard S. and was arrested on hit-and-run-related charges. Authorities are also looking into whether intoxication played a role in the mishap.

At least six people were injured following the mishap, including two teenagers. They sustained minor to moderate injuries. They were all taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
