[01-22-2023] Suspected DUI Collision on Interstate 215 Hospitalized Two WomenOne driver was arrested after a suspected DUI collision that injured two women in San Bernardino early Sunday morning, January 22, 2023.

The crash reportedly occurred around 2:13 a.m. on northbound I-215, just before the 5th Street exit.

Authorities responded to calls and found that a male motorist in a black Dodge Challenger collided with a white Mercedes-Benz GLA-type SUV carrying two female occupants.

The collision caused the Mercedes to overturn, causing significant damage.

One of the two females could exit the vehicle, while the other was trapped and had to be extricated.

Meanwhile, the other vehicle had extensive damage, including three entirely shredded tires and rims.

Rescuers requested at least two ambulances to arrive at the spot. The two victims were taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance with unknown injuries.

The male driver was only slightly injured. At the scene, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
