[01-26-2022] San Diego County, CA – Head-On Collision in Hillcrest Seriously Injures One Person

One unidentified man was seriously injured following a major head-on collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Hillcrest on early Wednesday morning, January 26, 2022.

A GMC Sierra pickup entered the southbound lanes of SR 163 from University Avenue and continued driving in the wrong direction.

The GMC Sierra then collided head-on with an oncoming Honda CR-V. The male Honda CR-V driver was seriously injured in the crash.

The unidentified man was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. The female GMC Sierra driver was also hospitalized to be checked for DUI.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
