[01-26-2025] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Suspected DUI Driver On Herndon And Blackstone Avenues

A man in his 40s was fatally struck by a suspected DUI driver on Sunday evening, January 26, 2025, in Fresno.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision occurred around 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of Herndon and Blackstone Avenues. Investigators determined that the man ran across six lanes of traffic on Herndon Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle in the number-three lane.

Responding officers administered life-saving efforts before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver, a woman who remained at the scene, displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested. Authorities are working to determine if her blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.

The area was closed off as officers continued their investigation. Further details have not been released.
