One person was killed while another was hurt following a deadly two-vehicle traffic collision in Bakersfield on Sunday morning, January 30, 2022.

A dark blue BMW SUV and another dark-colored vehicle collided on the roadway. Due to the severity of the impact, one of the involved vehicles overturned.

One of the involved vehicles was initially stolen before the collision. The stolen vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the other vehicle.

One person inside the overturned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, one driver sustained moderate injuries following the crash. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.

Authorities suspect that intoxication may have played a role in the accident. An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
