[01-30-2023] Nevada County, CA – Head-On Collision Near Grass Valley, Killed Driver, Injured Elderly Woman

A two-vehicle collision fatally struck an 18-year-old and injured a 78-year-old woman near Grass Valley on Monday night, January 30, 2023.

According to authorities, the fatal crash transpired around 5:50 p.m. near Greenwood Road and Rough and Ready Highway.

Reports state that the 18-year-old driver was driving west on the highway when he crossed the center line and struck the path of the Subaru driven by the woman.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and sustained severe head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 78-year-old woman, Elise D., was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment after sustaining severe injuries.
