[01-31-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – Four Hospitalized, Including Toddler, After Pursuit Led to Multi-Vehicle Crash in East LA

Four people were hospitalized, including a toddler, after a  juvenile led the police to a brief chase resulting in a multi-vehicle collision in East Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon, January 31, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of 4th Street and Arizona Avenue.

Authorities stated that they were chasing a 17-year-old teen inside a stolen Kia Soul when it crashed into a patrol vehicle and three other cars. The pursuit only lasted about a quarter mile.

Two adults, a toddler, and the juvenile driver were hospitalized after the accident, two of whom suffered major injuries but will survive.

The suspect was taken into custody by the law enforcement officials. The number of people involved and the extent of possible injuries the parties sustained are currently unclear.

Investigations are still underway.
