[02-01-2022] One Person Seriously Hurt After a Head-On Crash in CalistogaA 61-year-old man identified as Matthew C. was seriously hurt following a major head-on collision in Calistoga on Tuesday morning, February 1, 2022.

The accident happened on Highway 29 near Tubbs Lane and Robert Louis Stevenson State Park in Calistoga at around 8:45 a.m.

A 2000 Ford Contour Sedan initially traveled in the southbound lanes when the driver entered a curve and veered into the opposite lanes for unclear reasons.

The 2000 Ford Countour sedan collided head-on with an oncoming 2020 Freightliner truck. The sedan went down 75 feet into an embankment following the collision.

The Ford driver was seriously injured in the crash. He was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The truck driver was uninjured in the mishap.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
