[02-01-2023] Nevada County, CA - At Least Three People Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Penn Valley DriveAt least three people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Penn Valley, Nevada County, on Wednesday morning, February 01, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the three-vehicle crash occurred at the Penn Valley Drive and Highway 20 intersection near Lake Wildwood.

The chain-reaction car crash was reportedly started by 65-year-old Loren W. Two vehicles were stopped at red light traveling westbound when a third car pulled up behind them and failed to stop in time. A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was involved, but it was unclear if it was the car driven by Loren.

At least three people sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Their current condition and the total number of people involved were unclear.

The collision caused a traffic jam in the area from the busy intersection. CHP officials stated that the cleanup took over an hour to complete.

No other information was readily available as the investigation continued.
