[02-01-2024] Kern County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Semi-Truck in Wasco

One person was killed while another was injured after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-trailer truck in Wasco on Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2024.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the deadly collision occurred at around 12:40 p.m. on McCombs Road and Scofield Avenue.

The responding deputies said that the accident involved a Toyota Corolla and a semi-trailer truck. They found both vehicles with damage just south of the intersection.

Along with the responding firefighters, the deputies found a woman who was fatally injured. They tried to save her life, but she ultimately died at the scene.

The driver of the Corolla was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care, while the semi-trailer driver declined assistance and appeared to be fine.

It is still unclear what caused the incident in the first place and in which vehicle the deceased woman was before it.

The authorities are still on the case.
