[02-02-2022] Sonoma County, CA – Recology Driver Injured Following a DUI Crash in Santa Rosa

One unidentified worker was injured after a traffic crash involving a suspected drunk driver in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning, February 2, 2022.

[02-02-2022] Sonoma County, CA - Recology Driver Injured Following a DUI Crash in Santa RosaThe accident took place on Ludwig Avenue, just west of South Wright Road in Santa Rosa, at around 9:30 a.m.

A waste hauling company Recology employee was operating a GMC truck. The truck was stopped on the highway, and the Recology employee was standing beside his vehicle. Suddenly, a westbound Toyota Tundra veered to the right and rear-ended the truck.

Due to the severity of the impact, the truck was pushed towards the Recology employee, who was standing beside the truck at the time of the accident.

The Recology employee was seriously injured and immediately taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Tundra driver was uninjured by the mishap. He was later arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of DUI.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
