[02-03-2023] Ventura County, CA – Unidentified Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Oak View

One woman was fatally struck while attempting to cross in Oak View, Ventura County, on Friday night, February 3, 2023.

According to reports, the crash transpired around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 33 south of West Short Street.

Authorities identified the pedestrian as an older woman attempting to cross the highway when a 52-year-old Ojai Woman driving a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck struck her.

Initial investigations revealed the pedestrian inadvertently walked into the path of the approaching truck. It was also confirmed that there are no crosswalks nearby.

The pedestrian, whose age and city of residence were not given, was discovered in a southbound traffic lane and was pronounced dead at the scene.

First responders from Ventura County Sheriff’s Office administered CPR. The woman’s name was withheld until her family members were informed.
