[02-04-2022] Tulare County, CA – Woman Killed Following a Deadly Crash at Highway 216 and King Drive

An unidentified 69-year-old woman was killed following a deadly crash at Highway 216 and King Drive on Friday afternoon, February 4, 2022.

A southbound vehicle driven by the 21-year-old woman was traveling on Highway 216 when she failed to slow down or stop for a vehicle turning into a private driveway.

The 21-year-old woman veered off the roadway and rear-ended the other vehicle. Due to the severity of the impact, the other vehicle then rear-ended a tractor-trailer.

The 69-year-old female driver of the second vehicle was trapped in the wreckage. She was extricated from her vehicle and was immediately transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where she was declared dead.

The 21-year-old woman remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the collision. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
