Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision Statistics

As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1.35 million Americans are killed on American roads each year. Pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists frequently perish in these collisions.

Regarding fatalities, car accidents rank eighth in the world and are primarily responsible for the death of children and teenagers.

Approximately 1.37 fatalities occurred in the US per 100 kilometers in 2020. There were 18.4% more traffic fatalities as of the first quarter of 2021 than there were during the same time last year.

Several factors could cause a single-car accident. During slick, wet conditions, drivers who speed or make sudden turns can lose control of their car, resulting in a run-off-the-road accident. The street may be covered with branches or other debris that has fallen off of trucks.

To drive safely, it is essential that you wear a seatbelt, maintain your concentration, and avoid distractions. Despite precautions, people still risk becoming involved in these deadly situations.

How Do I Submit a Police Report Following an Accident

It is essential that the police show up at the crash site and file a report. You should be honest about what you saw and felt if questioned at the accident scene. Do not assume anything about unfamiliar situations when you speak, and refrain from making assumptions. It is common for victims following an accident to apologize profusely, even if they were not at fault, due to shock and anxiety. Insurance companies may use your deed of kindness to deny your claim because you admitted fault.
