[02-05-2023] El Dorado County, CA – Car Crashed Into Tree Near Pleasant Valley Road, Two Occupants Injured

Two people sustained severe injuries after a single-vehicle collision in El Dorado County on Sunday night, February 5, 2023.

According to reports, the crash transpired around 6:20 p.m. on Bucks Bar Road near Pleasant Valley Road.

Authorities were notified of a vehicle that slammed into an oak tree and discovered two people trapped inside a truck.

Firefighters used six Jaws-of-Life tools during the nearly two-hour rescue. It took about 20 minutes for the passenger to be rescued.

In contrast, the situation of the driver was far worse. This impact caused the truck to wind around a tree, causing the door to take most of the damage.

First responders had to move the truck away from the tree before rescuing the female driver. The victim was immediately airlifted to the hospital.

Both the driver and the passenger suffered severe injuries in the crash.

Rain and snow kept first responders busy, as there were numerous crashes due to the weather.

District officers stated that the part of the county where notoriously low temperatures and steep, winding roads have resulted in some disastrous vehicle accidents.

Drivers are advised to drive slowly and cautiously.

Details on the circumstances of the crash have not been released.
