[02-05-2025] Man on Electric Bike Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Truck in Ocean CrestA 27-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a truck while riding an electric bicycle in Ocean Crest, San Diego, on Wednesday evening, February 5, 2025.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on westbound Otay Mesa Road.

The bicyclist was traveling westbound on the north sidewalk when he rode into the roadway and was struck by a 2020 Hino truck driven by a 64-year-old man.

Emergency responders transported the injured rider to a hospital, where he was treated for a fractured femur and pelvis. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
