[02-06-2022] Imperial County, CA – One Dead, Five Others Seriously Injured in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Near Salton City

Five major injuries and one fatality were sustained in a fatal crash on State Route 86 on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

A Chevrolet Traverse was carrying five people collided with a Dodge Avenger around midnight at the crash scene.

Three passengers and the Chevrolet’s driver and the Dodge’s driver were seriously injured, and one passenger died.

El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Hospital, and Desert Regional Medical Center were among the hospitals where the victims were taken.

According to police, drug or alcohol impairment did not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The identities of the victims have yet to be disclosed.

Local authorities are still investigating the crash.
