A 72-year-old woman and a dog were killed, while three others sustained injuries in a multi-car crash in Westwood, Los Angeles on Friday, February 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on the northbound 405 Freeway near Wilshire Boulevard.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and extricated a trapped individual from a vehicle.
Authorities confirmed that 72-year-old Margaret J. and a dog died in the collision. Two people were critically injured, while a 60-year-old woman was reported to be in fair condition.
Firefighters reported that another dog initially ran onto the freeway but was later captured by authorities.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
