One unidentified man was injured following a major motorcycle crash in Isla Vista on Tuesday night, February 8, 2022.

A motorcycle rear-ended a passenger vehicle for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the crash have not been established.

The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries following the crash and was rushed to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

The driver and the passenger in the other vehicle were uninjured in the mishap. They remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
