[02-09-2025] Pedestrian Killed in Collision on West 17th Street in Santa AnaA pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle at the 2100 block of West 17th Street near Ferrellgas Propane in Santa Ana on Sunday night, February 9, 2025.

According to reports, the crash occurred around 10:23 p.m. when a white Nissan SUV hit the pedestrian. Emergency paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

The Nissan sustained front-end damage and was stopped by police shortly after the collision. The driver remained at the scene and appeared to be cooperating with law enforcement.

Santa Ana Police Department officers shut down all westbound lanes of West 17th Street at King Street for the investigation.

It is unclear if the driver will face any charges. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the driver or the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
