[02-11-2022] Fresno County, CA – Female Pedestrian Injured After Getting Struck by Vehicle in Central Fresno

A woman was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in central Fresno on Friday night, February 11, 2022.

The pedestrian accident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Fresno Street and Belmont Avenue.

Two women were attempting to cross Fresno Street southbound in a crosswalk, according to police.

The light turned green as the women approached the other side of the road, and a vehicle approaching the intersection failed to yield, striking one of the women.

The pedestrian was transported to Community Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with officers, according to police.

It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
