One unidentified man was killed following a deadly collision involving a suspected DUI driver in Corona on Saturday morning, February 12, 2022.

[02-12-2022] Riverside County, CA - One Person Killed After a Fatal DUI Crash in CoronaThe fatal accident happened at approximately 3:07 a.m. on 15 Freeway near Weirick Road in Corona.

A northbound Mercedes Benz E-350 was traveling on 15 Freeway when the driver rear-ended a Honda CRV. Due to the severity of the impact, both vehicles drifted off the roadway and drove down an embankment.

Unfortunately, the CRV driver was killed in the mishap. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant in the vehicle.

Authorities later determined that the Mercedes driver was under the influence at the time of the accident. He was identified as 29-year-old Jorge Animal G.

He was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside on suspicion of second-degree murder, driving under the influence resulting in death, and DUI resulting in great bodily injury.
