Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

When three or more vehicles collide, it is called a multi-vehicle collision. A “chain reaction” crash typically triggers it. Because there are so many people involved in a multi-vehicle accident, cases like this may be tricky to handle.

According to the National Highway Road Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly one-fourth of traffic deaths occur in multi-vehicle incidents, with over 13,000 persons killed each year (NHTSA).

Disputes over who was to blame for causing a multi-vehicle crash frequently resulted in heated legal fights. If you are involved in a court dispute, you may forfeit your right to compensation for your injuries.

Drunk driving, speeding, and inattentive driving are common causes of these types of accidents.
