[02-20-2023] 36-Year-Old Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 8A 36-year-old man was seriously injured after a collision on Interstate 8 on Monday, February 20.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Monday evening east of Forrester Road on I-8.

The CHP stated that a 2007 Ford Freestar and a 2021 Ford Box collided at the crash scene.

The 2007 Ford Freestar was being driven by a San Ysidro, California, man in his mid-thirties, east of Forrester Road on I-8.

Additionally, a 2021 Ford Box Truck driven by a 51-year-old El Centro, California woman, was traveling eastbound east of Forrester Road but in front of the Ford Freestar.

The CHP noted that traffic was slow because of a previous collision in the westbound lanes of I-8 east of Forrester Road.

According to CHP, the 36-year-old driver crashed directly into the back of the Ford Box Truck, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.

According to CHP, the 36-year-old man was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center with severe injuries and received medical attention.

According to CHP, both people involved in the collision were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and it doesn’t appear that either was impaired.

The accident remains under investigation.
