[02-20-2023] Male Pedestrian Killed by Vehicle in Santa Ana Hit & Run CrashA male pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana on Monday morning, February 20, 2023.

According to Santa Ana Police, the fatal crash occurred early morning at 3:20 a.m. at the West 1st and South Figueroa streets intersection.

The initial investigation stated that the victim was in 1st Street’s eastbound lanes when a car traveling east hit him and left the scene. He was declared dead on the spot by the responders from Orange County Fire Authority. His next of kin will be notified before his identity is released.

The vehicle was later found by detectives parked at a residence. The suspect was taken into custody, and upon investigation, the police said alcohol seemed to have played a role.
