A 38-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car on Manning Avenue near Zediker Avenue in Fresno County, just outside Parlier, on Thursday morning, February 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred before 1:00 a.m. when a 22-year-old man was driving a Kia Optima eastbound on Manning Avenue while the pedestrian was walking in the lane ahead of the vehicle.
The driver attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the collision, resulting in the pedestrian being struck.
The 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The Kia driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, according to CHP.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash. No additional information is available at this time.
