[02-21-2022] One Person Killed, Another Injured After a Car Crash in IrwindaleOne unidentified person was killed while another was injured following a car accident in Irwindale on Monday evening, February 21, 2022.

The accident happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the area of Arrow Highway and Gayhurst Avenue in Irwindale.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the crash have not been established.

One of the vehicles then crashed into a Southern California Edison pole following the collision. The crash caused a power outage in the area.

The driver that crashed into the pole was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a passenger inside that car was rushed to a nearby trauma center to receive treatment.

Information about the accident is limited at the moment. Local authorities are further investigating the case. They will attempt to determine the cause and the liability in the mishap.
