[02-23-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – One Man Killed as a Result of Two-Vehicle Crash on Golden State Freeway

Authorities said that a 23-year-old Castaic was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Golden State Freeway in the Castaic area on Tuesday, February 23, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 10:10 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway south of State Route 126.

The name of the man who died at the scene has been withheld pending notification of his relatives.

According to a CHP statement, the man was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Golf when he crashed into the center median concrete barrier, then came to rest, perpendicular in the roadway.

According to the CHP, a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq then collided with the Volkswagen’s left side.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 42-year-old Sylmar man whose name was not released, received minor injuries, according to the CHP.

There are no other details available. The crash remains under investigation.
