According to the California Highway Patrol, a wrong-way driver killed a Roseville man and seriously injured a Carmichael man in a head-on collision on Highway 65 near Roseville Wednesday night, February 23.

CHP reported that Arturo G., 34, of Carmichael, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

According to a news release, officers discovered Garcia’s white 2015 Subaru Impreza traveling the wrong way in the center divide area of the center the southbound side.

The Subaru suddenly swerved left from the center divider and into the southbound fast lane, colliding with a 1994 Toyota Corolla head-on.

The Toyota driver, a 39-year-old Roseville man, died in hospital after suffering fatal injuries.

According to the CHP, he didn’t appear to be wearing a seat belt.
