A 76-year-old man was killed by a woman driving under the influence in Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

When the Desert Hot Springs Police Department responded to a traffic collision report involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Hacienda Avenue and Maui Way, Amanda I., age and city of residence unknown, was unknown arrested on Wednesday.

According to city spokesperson Doria Wilms, Irving was driving eastbound when she collided with the man walking along the road.

The victim died as a result of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Irving was arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of DUI causing great bodily injury.

On the other hand, information on her bail and her upcoming court appearance was not immediately available on jail records.
